Position Overview:

The Cafe Worker is responsible for supporting daily cafe operations, including preparing beverages and food, processing customer orders, and running food. The role also involves stocking inventory, cleaning and sanitizing, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized cafe environment throughout the day. Team members provide friendly and professional customer service while working efficiently in a fast-paced setting. The position requires flexibility to support various aspects of cafe operations, including beverage preparation, cashier duties, food running, cleaning, and stocking.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, tea, smoothies, and other menu items.
• Greet customers, take and accurately process orders using the POS system, and provide friendly, professional service.
• Deliver food and beverages to customers promptly while ensuring accurate and appealing presentation.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized cafe by washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, cleaning equipment, sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.
• Restock beverages, food items, cups, lids, milk, syrups, and other supplies throughout each shift.
• Receive, organize, and rotate inventory using FIFO procedures while communicating supply shortages to management.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, opening, shift, and closing procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and management to support smooth daily operations and provide an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in a barista, cafe, restaurant, cashier, food service, or customer service role.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Must have open availability for holidays and weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Pay Range: USD $17.03 - USD $17.50 /Hr.
