Cafe & Bar Specialist

The Cafe and Bar Specialist will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests by providing exceptional food and beverage service in our club’s bar and restaurant area. We are seeking energetic and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as a Cafe and Bar Specialist at Chip’s Pickleball Club. The Cafe and Bar Specialist will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests by providing exceptional food and beverage service in our club’s bar and restaurant area. The cafe hours are 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM every day. 

Responsibilities:

1. Arrive on time every time for each shift you work.
2. Assume responsibility for your area of the club and take pride in your work.
3. Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, and personalized service throughout their visit.
4. Take customers orders for food/beverages, ensuring accuracy and attention to special requests or dietary restrictions.
5. Check IDs to verify the age of guests ordering alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements.
6. Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, according to club standards and recipes.
7. Operate cafe equipment such as the La Marzocco espresso machine, coffee makers, TurboChef oven, and others safely and effectively.
8. Process transactions accurately and securely using Toast (our point-of-sale system) and handle credit card payments securely.
9. Monitor alcohol consumption of patrons and intervene when necessary to prevent overindulgence or inappropriate behavior.
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cafe and lounge area, including sanitizing surfaces, stocking supplies, and cleaning equipment.
11. Monitor food and beverage inventory levels and communicate with management to restock ingredients and supplies as needed.
12. Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards in food handling and preparation, following all relevant guidelines and regulations.
13. Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns and ensuring a positive experience.
14. Collaborate with other staff to coordinate orders and maintain efficient service during peak periods. 
15. Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of food and beverages.
16. Uphold high standards of professionalism and teamwork, fostering a positive and supportive work environment in the kitchen.
17. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies, checking for accuracy and quality.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience in food service, bartending or hospitality is preferred.
• Knowledge of cafe operations, including food preparation, beverage service, and customer interactions.
• Knowledge of a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, and wine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on providing great customer service. 
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Certification in responsible alcohol service (ex. TIPS) is a plus but not required.
• Availability to work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends.)
• Must have dependable and punctual transportation to and from Chip’s.
