Job Summary

CAD Technician uses specialized software to create accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and models from sketches, notes, and engineering concepts. Develop detailed plans and layouts for construction, manufacturing, and engineering projects.

 

Job Description

  • Create detailed plans, layouts, and cross-sections using AutoCAD.
  • Convert hand sketches, redlines, and verbal instructions from engineers and architects into final technical drawings.
  • Revise existing drawings based on client feedback, test results, and team redlines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction crews to ensure designs are practical and accurate.
  • Organize, label, and maintain digital drawing libraries and project records.

 

Skills Required

  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Understanding basic engineering measurements and metrics.
  • Ability to follow applicable industry standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and project teams.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Design, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in place of the degree.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass drug screenings and criminal background checks
  • Start Time: 04:30 AM
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and instructions into accurate drawings.
  • Ability to manage revisions and maintain organized project documentation.

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Estimated Salary: $36.45 to $44.45 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
