Position Title: CAD Technician
Pay: $26$30/hour (DOE)
Location: Columbia, SC
Position Summary:
We are seeking a CAD Technician to support the design and development of electrical substation projects. This position will work closely with engineers and designers to produce detailed AutoCAD drawings and construction documents for electrical, structural, and foundation designs.
Key Responsibilities:- Create and update AutoCAD drawings for substation projects
- Prepare one-line diagrams, plan views, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings
- Develop structural and foundation details
- Prepare material lists and support basic calculations and reports
- Follow client, industry, state, and national design standards
- Work with engineers and designers to identify and resolve design issues
- Support projects from initial design through completion
Requirements:- 2+ years of professional AutoCAD experience
- Strong AutoCAD and technical drafting skills
- Experience producing detailed CAD drawings
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and design documents
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:- Associate degree in CAD or a related field
- Previous utility, power, electrical, or substation experience
- Understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems
