Description

Title: CAD / R&D Process Improvement Engineer
Location: Remote

Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on engineer to improve CAD systems, engineering workflows, and product-development processes across R&D and manufacturing operations. This position requires practical engineering experience and a strong understanding of how products progress from initial concept through design, development, and production.

Experience with eCAD is highly preferred. Candidates with strong CAD/PLM integration experience and knowledge of SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar platforms are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and production teams to understand existing workflows and operational challenges.
  • Evaluate CAD processes, tools, and system integrations to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommend and implement practical solutions that simplify engineering workflows and improve productivity.
  • Support product-development activities from initial concept and design through manufacturing release and production.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and user-experience issues across engineering systems.
  • Challenge established processes and promote continuous improvement.
  • Translate complex engineering problems and stakeholder requirements into actionable solutions.
  • Improve collaboration and information flow between CAD, PLM, R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support CAD/PLM integration, workflow optimization, and engineering-system usability initiatives.
  • Operate effectively in changing environments with incomplete or evolving requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
  • Professional experience in an engineering, manufacturing, production, or R&D environment.
  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks, Creo, NX, eCAD, or comparable CAD platforms.
  • Experience improving CAD workflows, CAD integrations, or engineering processes.
  • Strong understanding of the complete product-development lifecycle, from concept through production.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop practical process improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying inefficiencies and challenging existing ways of working.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on eCAD experience.
  • Experience using Windchill.
  • Knowledge of PLM systems and CAD/PLM integrations.
  • Experience supporting engineering teams in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Background in continuous improvement, process optimization, or operational excellence.
  • Experience collaborating across R&D, design engineering, manufacturing, and production functions.
