    The CAD (Computer Aided Design) Pattern Technician will use provided 2D and 3D CAD models or physical products to build 2D patterns optimized for automated cutting machines. The role will work with team members to ensure material utilization and program requirements are met. The CAD Pattern Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring paperwork aligns with the build schedules.  This position is full-time on the day shift in Livonia, MI.Duties and Responsibilities of a CAD Pattern Technician:
    • Support various shop operations and functions as needed by collaborating with other members of the department
    • Create patterns using CAD software and verify product fitment prior to production
    • Communicate material usage requirements and program requirements with team members and other departments
    • Optimize material utilization through efficient cut files
    • Ensure accuracy of all parts, paperwork and documentation to the provided build schedules
    • Inspect equipment regularly and ensure it is in safe working condition
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
    To be considered as a CAD Pattern Technician, you need:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • To be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship 
    • Minimum 1 year of CAD software experience
    • Understanding and use of basic coding of automated cutting software, such as an Eastman textile cutting machine
    • Basic mechanical skills and physical ability to work around forms, molds, models, and parts
    • Experience using hand and power tools such as drills, sanders, and grinders
    • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
    • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and related documentation
    • Ability to work effectively with others, follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and develop patterns based on part requirements
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
    Preferred Education and Experience:
    • Associate degree or certification in a technical field with CAD training
    • Experience in low-volume composite or manufacturing
    • Experience with Rhinoceros 3D and/or SolidWorks CAD software
    • Advanced math skills
    • Knowledge of adhesives, sealants, primers, and composite/textile materials
    • Understanding of material utilization and/or material properties
    • Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends
