Overview:
The Junior CAD Designer will create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings supporting the development of complex systems and equipment for Department of Defense programs. Working alongside engineers and project leaders, this position provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen technical design skills while contributing to products built for real-world performance.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Creo, SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or similar design software.
- Work as part of a project team under the direction of an Engineer or Project Manager.
- Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, technical documentation, and test results.
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
- Provide input and recommendations for technical solutions.
- Independently resolve moderately complex design and technical challenges.
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles as required.
- Provide input to Program Managers regarding project planning, schedules, and budgets.
- Support the continued improvement of the organization s Quality Management System.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation throughout the design and development process.
Qualifications:- Associate degree in Engineering or a related technical field highly desired.
- Two or more years of experience using CAD software.
- Experience with Creo, SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or comparable software.
- Experience applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for technical excellence, problem-solving, and high-quality work.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
