Job Description: We are seeking a Data Center Cable Technician with 1+ year of cable installation experience to support structured cabling installations in a data center environment. Candidates with experience working for a telecommunications, cable, or broadband company are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience pulling and routing fiber optic and CAT6 cable and be comfortable working in a fast-paced data center environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull and route fiber optic and CAT6 cable throughout data center facilities.
- Install and route cable through cable trays, conduit, and designated pathways.
- Maintain proper cable routing, organization, and separation.
- Assist with cable dressing, labeling, and securing.
- Follow project drawings, cable pathways, and installation specifications.
- Work safely around active construction and data center environments.
- Perform physically demanding cable installation tasks, including pulling and handling large cable bundles.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience as a Cable Technician or Low Voltage Technician.
- Experience pulling fiber optic and CAT6 cable preferred.
- Data center experience preferred but not required.
- Candidates with backgrounds in telecommunications, broadband, cable installation, or utility communications are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with cable pulling, routing, pathway installation, or outside/inside plant cabling is a plus.
- Ability to work from ladders and lifts when required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a team environment.
