Responsibilities: of the Cable Technician: · Install, route, secure, and dress copper and fiber optic cabling throughout the data center. · Pull Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cable through trays, conduits, and overhead pathways. · Terminate and test low-voltage copper and fiber cabling according to industry standards. · Install cable management systems including ladder rack, basket tray, J-hooks, and sleeves. · Label cables and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with project requirements. · Perform cable continuity and certification testing using Fluke and fiber testing equipment. · Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, rack elevation drawings, and cabling schematics. · Install and connect network equipment, patch panels, server cabinets, and data center infrastructure components. Qualifications: of the Cable Technician: · 1+ years of experience as a Cable Technician, Structured Cabling Technician, Data Center Technician, or Low Voltage Installer. · Experience pulling and terminating copper and/or fiber optic cabling. · OSHA Certification (required upon starting) · Familiarity with TIA/EIA structured cabling standards. · Ability to read construction drawings and cable schedules. · Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in active construction environments. · Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work extended periods standing, bending, and pulling cable. · Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. · Reliable transportation and ability to commute to the Red Oak project site.
