    Job Summary

    Cable Plant/Passive Infrastructure Designer – RCDD

    Job Responsibilities

    • Maintain, coordinate, design, and oversee installation of inside-plant cable infrastructure, including conduit, cable trays, copper, coaxial, fiber, and associated cabling components.
    • Support outside-plant infrastructure and related facilities.
    • Develop Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) for communication spaces, pathways, cable racks, cable installation, and cable termination.
    • Provide operations and maintenance support for telecommunications rooms and infrastructure.
    • Support equipment refreshes, maintenance, and cable infrastructure cleanup.
    • Prepare Cable Installation Plans (CIPs), cut sheets, cost estimates, site surveys, and weekly reports.
    • Develop maintenance plans and ensure compliance with applicable DoD, DISA, and industry standards.
    • Coordinate infrastructure design and installation activities.
    • Perform problem analysis and creative problem solving.
    • Communicate effectively with customers and technical personnel.
    • Provide customer support in a high-visibility environment.
    • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in design and documentation activities.

    Required Qualifications

    • Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI.
    • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
    • Minimum 6 years of experience developing layouts and designs for technology systems, including voice, data, and structured cabling.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Microsoft Visio.
    • Strong knowledge of BICSI guidelines and standards.
    • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, and other applicable telecommunications and low-voltage standards and codes.
    • Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, including surveying, design, installation, testing, and commissioning.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with Planet and AutoCAD.
