Location:         Dallas, TX 75235
Duration:         4 Years (Possible conversion to full time)
Pay Rate:         $20-26.00/hr on W2
Shift Hour:      1st Shift | (100% on site)

 
Job Description:
Cabinet Maker II
 
Position Purpose
  • Under general supervision, fabricates aircraft furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using aircraft specifications, design and engineering drawings.
  • Maintains a high level of safety, quality, craftsmanship, and productivity.
  • Assists experienced team members to enhance cabinetmaking techniques and support quality workmanship.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate aircraft furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies using blueprints, aircraft specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Assemble, pin, and glue cabinet shells.
  • Install drawer slides, hinges, latches, and other hardware components.
  • Apply laminates, veneers, cap strips, and other exterior surface materials.
  • Use hand-held and stationary power tools to fabricate, modify, or disassemble furniture components.
  • Follow all safety, 5S, and housekeeping procedures while protecting aircraft interiors.
  • Utilize material tracking systems to create parts demand, track squawks, and complete work sign-offs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, cycle time, and productivity using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of cabinetmaking experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of cabinetmaking processes, products, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications preferred.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in restricted spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to work assigned shifts and support production requirements.
