About Bay Area Millwork Fabrication


Bay Area Millwork Fabrication (BAMF) is a growing commercial millwork and cabinetry fabrication company serving the Tampa Bay area.


We're looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined person who wants to learn a skilled trade and grow with our company.


No cabinetmaking experience is required. We will train the right person. If you enjoy working with your hands, are comfortable using tools, pay attention to detail, and are willing to learn, we'd like to meet you.


About the Position


The Cabinet Builder & Installation Assistant will work alongside experienced cabinet builders and installers to learn how commercial cabinetry and millwork are fabricated and installed.


This is a hands-on position with time spent both in our shop building custom cabinetry and at commercial jobsites installing finished products.


You will learn everything from basic cabinet assembly and hardware installation to working with woodworking equipment, reading shop drawings, and performing professional field installations.


Our goal is to help the right person develop into a skilled cabinet builder—not keep you in an entry-level position forever.


What You'll Do


  • Assist experienced cabinet builders with building and assembling custom cabinetry and millwork
  • Learn to read and work from shop drawings, plans, and measurements
  • Measure and prepare materials for fabrication
  • Assist with cutting, assembly, sanding, and preparation of cabinetry
  • Learn to safely operate woodworking tools and machinery
  • Assist with cabinet and millwork installation at commercial jobsites
  • Assist with installation of hardware, doors, drawers, and related components
  • Help load, transport, and unload materials and finished products
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and jobsite
  • Work with the production and project teams to complete projects on schedule
  • Learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as your abilities develop

What We're Looking For


No cabinetmaking experience is required. We will train the right candidate.


We're looking for someone who is:


  • Mechanically inclined and enjoys working with their hands
  • Dependable and ready to work
  • Eager to learn a skilled trade
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
  • Able to follow instructions and pay close attention to detail
  • A good problem solver
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional and respectful when working at commercial jobsites
  • Able to safely lift 50+ pounds and perform physical work as needed
  • Willing to learn and take direction from experienced team members
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Possesses a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Able to pass a drug and alcohol screening and criminal background check

Schedule


  • Monday–Friday
  • Part-time
  • Occasional full-time hours and overtime available based on project demands

Compensation & Benefits


$16–$22 per hour, based on experience and skill level
