Position Summary
The Picker is responsible for accurately picking, staging, and preparing customer orders for shipment in a fast paced distribution center environment. This role requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and a commitment to maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse.
Essential Responsibilities
- Pick and build customer orders accurately and efficiently based on daily shipping requirements
- Stage, organize, and prepare orders on skids/pallets for shipment
- Continue picking ahead for upcoming orders once daily order requirements have been completed
- Assist with additional warehouse tasks and priorities as directed after order-picking activities are finished
- Operate warehouse equipment, including order pickers and reach trucks, in a safe and efficient manner
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse technology to accurately track inventory and order fulfillment
- Pick products from elevated storage locations and high shelving areas
- Verify product quantities and order accuracy before staging for shipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including completing daily housekeeping responsibilities in assigned areas
- Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and work instructions
What You'll Bring
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday
- Ability to work on-site at our Atlanta, GA distribution center
- Experience using RF scanners in a warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision
- At least 1 year of reach truck experience
- At least 1 year of order picker experience
- Experience picking products from high shelving and elevated storage locations
- Comfortable working with warehouse technology, including scanners and printers
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to assist with additional tasks as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with inventory control and warehouse best practices.
