Job Summary:

Position Title: CA RN - MED/SURG
Location: Arcata CA 95518
Duration: 13 Weeks
Work Schedule: 7:00pm - 7:30am - three 12-hr. shifts weekly
Pay rate: $62/hr to 67/hr. (negotiable)
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients.
Assess patients' conditions, monitor vital signs, and identify changes in health status.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Monitor patients for complications and promptly communicate changes to physicians and the healthcare team.
Perform wound care, pain management, and other routine Med/Surg nursing procedures.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the CPSI/Evident EMR.
Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, discharge instructions, and ongoing care.
Follow hospital policies, infection-control procedures, and patient-safety standards.
Provide effective care during 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM) and participate in required holiday coverage

Current and active California RN License
Minimum 3 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Experience caring for adult Med/Surg patients
Ability to work 3 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Ability to work 36 hours/week
Willingness to provide holiday coverage
Recent negative TB screening within 12 months of the contract start date
Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and patient-care skills
Ability to accurately document patient care using CPSI/Evident EMR
Strong teamwork and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
