C-1 Driver

Position Characteristics:

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Congregate Driver delivers meals to senior centers in East Baton Rouge Parish. Performs routine maintenance duties to include overall building and grounds maintenance and minor repair functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To reflect in all aspects of job performance the mission of the East Baton Rouge Council

on the Aging, Inc. 'serving the elderly in East Baton Rouge Parish, to enrich and enhance

their quality of life through advocacy efforts, creative planning, and coordination and

provision of needed services, and to make it possible for them to live independent lives as

long as possible.'

Load hot meals into assigned delivery vehicle in a manner to ensure safe transportation of the meals

Deliver hot meals and unloads at assigned designated centers

Assist in preparation and packaging of food as needed

Keeps assigned vehicle clean and orderly

Refers seniors in need to Nutrition Supervisor for follow-up by Information & Assistance Management Department staff. Provides information on EBRCOA programs and community services

Report any health or status changes on homebound seniors on assigned route

Deliver paperwork or other materials from the senior centers to the Nutrition Supervisor

Any other duties deemed necessary
