Summary of the Role:
A Buyer is tasked with efficiently managing the procurement of designated categories of raw materials across TSS Renton, aiming to achieve optimal cost and quality outcomes. The Buyer is also responsible for upholding compliance with all purchasing related regulations and principles of the quality management system while actively participating in the establishment and upkeep of these systems.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Participation in Supply Review
- âEfficiently manage the purchase order process, from creation to fulfillment, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials to meet production needs.
- âEnsure the purchased raw materials meet quality standards and collaborate with suppliers to address any quality issues promptly.
- âNegotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions.
- âMonitor and optimize inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels align with production schedules and customer demand while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
- âAdhere to all relevant regulations and standards governing the procurement of raw materials, ensuring compliance with legal and industry requirements.
- âBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance, and addressing any issues or discrepancies.
- âIdentify and assess risks with the supply chain, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate disruptions such as supply shortages or transportation delays.
- âPromote and adhere to ethical sourcing practices, considering sustainability, social responsibility, and environmental impact in procurement decisions.
- âUtilize analytical tools and software to analyze and interpret data related to inventory levels, procurement, production, and distribution.
- âReview and manage change requests from Production
- âSet-up and maintain system parameters to run the system as automatic as possible and to achieve good results.
- âCollaborate with various departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment with overall business goals, escalations, etc.
- âSupport transfer projects.
- âEnsure smooth phase-in of New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfers in collaboration between Sales and Manufacturing.
- âActively participate in and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, suggesting and implementing enhancements to planning processes and workflows.
- âOther duties as assigned.â
Education and Experience:
- ââBachelors degree in business administration, supply chain, information systems or related discipline required
- âMinimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing function in a distribution or logistics environment
- âWilling to travel up to 5%
- âExperience working with ERP systems, JD Edwards & SAP preferred
- âExperience working with PC and MS Office, especially Excelâ

Travel:
- Willing to travel occasionally where required. Number of days cannot be stated at this time.
The final compensation offered to the candidate may be based on geographical location, work experience and/or skill level. Additions to the compensation packing, including but not limited to paid time off, insurance benefits and 401(k) eligibility, will be outlined at the time of the job offer.
Compensation range: $70,000 - $90,000
