Job Summary:
The Buyer I will manage purchasing and procurement activities to ensure timely availability of materials for production. This role will manage supplier relationships, inventory levels, purchase orders, pricing, delivery, quality issues, and cost-saving initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily purchasing activities, including New Buy, Late, and Kanban reports.
  • Procure materials based on production and engineering schedules.
  • Maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor material requirements.
  • Manage supplier relationships, pricing, delivery, quality, and performance.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support RFQs, supplier qualification, sourcing, and supplier renegotiations.
  • Manage internal and external Kanban and VMI programs.
  • Monitor supplier performance and support On-Time Delivery (OTD) and incoming quality targets.
  • Resolve supplier delivery, quality, receiving, inspection, and Accounts Payable issues.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Planning, Logistics, Finance, and Procurement teams.
  • Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) for cost and lead-time accuracy.
  • Research and communicate ECO cost impacts and coordinate supplier notifications and PO updates.
  • Perform Oracle ERP new-part setup and maintenance.
  • Maintain purchase orders, purchase requisitions, inventory records, and supplier agreements.
  • Review supplier scorecards and support corrective action plans and supplier audits.
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities through spend analysis and supplier negotiations.
  • Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with inventory audits, month-end reconciliation, safety audits, and procurement reporting.
  • Reconcile monthly P-Card transactions using Concur.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, International Business, or related field.
  • 1 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience with supplier management and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze purchasing data, costs, lead times, and BOMs.
