    Job Summary

    Nidec Minster Corporation is currently seeking a Buyer/Planner to plan and control Manufacturing and Purchase Orders in support of on-time performance of production schedules, to achieve a balance of maximizing productivity and minimizing inventory, and to procure and expedite materials and resources in support of final assembly schedule while adhering to MRP planning logic.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Release and act on manufacturing orders in support of the department work schedule and shipment plan set forth by the master production schedule.
    • Review and act on MRP messages as they relate to manufacturing and purchase orders.
    • Review and respond to shortages daily.
    • Resolve transaction discrepancies.
    • Work with other departments to develop a smooth flow of material from suppliers to customers.
    • Responsible for procurement of all commodity type items along with straight Buy items.
    • Monitor Internal and External supplier performance in areas of Cost, Quality, Delivery, and Service. Works with suppliers to develop solutions.
    • Ensures inventory levels for all components supporting Production Schedule, inclusive of components not supported by BOM, are in support of production requirements with the least inventory investment.
    • Supports inventory accuracy on all stock areas supporting the Final Assembly schedule. This is completed through support of cycle counting and managing ''Point of Use'' suppliers.
    • Make recommendations involving manning levels and supplier selection.
    • Develop and refine metrics for tracking both supplier and assembly performance.
    • Manage non-conforming material to respective suppliers.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
    • Knowledge of MRP/ERP concepts. APICS Certification desired. SAP experience a plus.
    • 3-5 years of experience in production planning or procurement.
    • Ability to perform computations or analysis using basic statistical, financial or logical concepts; or complex mathematical concepts.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
