    Overview

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join our dynamic team in Mesa, AZ (85215). In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing our supply chain and ensuring that our inventory levels meet the demands of our operations.     Responsibilities

    • Support purchasing and planning activities for COTS items, contract-manufactured assemblies, build-to-print parts, services, and other production requirements.
    • Review MRP recommendations, bills of material, inventory balances, open orders, lead times, and production demand to identify material requirements.
    • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.
    • Create purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing strategies with business goals.
    • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
    • Assist with production planning and material forecasting by updating material status, reviewing work-order demand, comparing supply to requirements, tracking shortages, and communicating schedule risks.
    • Supports the disposition, return, replacement, and corrective action of nonconforming purchased material with Quality and suppliers.
    • Resolve any discrepancies or issues with finance, receiving and suppliers in a timely manner.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred.
    • 6 months+ of experience in purchasing or planning roles.
    • Basic understanding of purchasing, material planning, inventory, bills of material, and manufacturing processes preferred, with the ability to learn and use MRP/ERP systems.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to read part numbers, specifications, drawings, and bills of material with training and guidance; government-contract or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
