Buyer

The Buyer will be responsible to think critically in an effort to negotiate price while building and maintaining their network of suppliers. They will move efficiently in all requested buying activities to support on-time delivery of our products to our customers.

What You'll Do

• Complete all daily purchasing call to actions prompted from reporting systems and emails.
• Work with Sourcing Specialists to source raw materials/finished goods to satisfy end user requirements effectively.
• Build relationships with suppliers to negotiate with them for the best pricing, payment, and shipping terms.
• Process all dropship requests daily.
• Manage retrieval and updates of vendor certifications.
• Proactively communicate order status updates cross departmentally through Oracle/ERP systems.
• Purchase all MRO and office supplies.
• Communicate with Purchasing Supervisor and Manager and Sales and Marketing personnel regarding price and availability changes occurring in the supply chain.
• Follow departmental procedures and work instructions as written and recommend improvements as necessary.
• Perform any other task/activity assigned by the supervisor and manager within the scope of the purchasing system.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per Sealing Devices Quality

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Oracle/ERP Expereince Preferred
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of progressive expereinece in a purchasing/buying function

• Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment.
• Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus when reviewing shipment documentation, system data, and customs paperwork.
• Must be able to hear and communicate clearly for phone conversations, video calls, and in-person collaboration.
• Occasional bending, reaching, or stooping may be required to access files, supplies, or materials.
• Ability to travel periodically to supplier sites or carrier facilities as needed.
• Ability to work in both office and production environments may involve moderate noise levels, temperature variation, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
