Contract Length: 6 months
Pay Rate: $30-$36 an hour
Position SummaryResponsible for supporting procurement and supply chain operations by sourcing materials and services, processing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support business operations and projects. This role also supports inventory replenishment, contract administration, process improvement initiatives, and compliance requirements while helping optimize costs and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Review procurement requests for completeness and process purchase orders.
- Manage replenishment purchasing for stock and non-stock materials using inventory reports and established min/max levels.
- Analyze material usage and inventory trends to recommend replenishment actions.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier bids through RFQ and RFP processes and provide procurement recommendations.
- Negotiate with suppliers and coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve purchasing, pricing, warranty, and order issues.
- Support the logistics, receiving, inspection, and delivery of project and capital materials.
- Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice, payment, and invoice hold issues.
- Maintain and update pricing on blanket purchase orders.
- Review material forecasts and expedite orders to support project schedules.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and SOX requirements.
- Provide procurement and work management support to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in supplier relationship management activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support emergency response and restoration efforts when required.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, inventory management, or related operations.
- Experience using ERP, procurement, inventory, or work management systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with procurement, inventory management, and financial/material management systems.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting/analytics tools such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of financial analysis and supply chain best practices.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certification.
- Experience in utilities, construction, manufacturing, or similarly complex operational environments.
