Buyer (Temporary – 6 Months)

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join a fast-paced Supply Chain team on a six-month temporary assignment. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing materials and services, negotiating with suppliers, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery to support field operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase materials and services to support operational and customer requirements.
  • Source qualified suppliers and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms.
  • Create, issue, and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Expedite deliveries to meet operational deadlines and customer needs.
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions for quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor supplier performance and communicate market conditions that may impact pricing or delivery.
  • Resolve vendor issues and provide responsive support to field operations.
  • Investigate and reconcile invoice discrepancies related to purchase orders.
  • Coordinate daily with logistics providers and freight partners to ensure efficient movement of materials.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, purchasing strategies, and special projects.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and best practices.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes and supplier management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with ERP or purchasing systems.
  • Knowledge of logistics, freight coordination, and supply chain operations.
