In this role, you will manage sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationships to ensure the organization has reliable access to materials, components, and services needed to support production and program schedules. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to execute purchase orders, evaluate quotations, maintain documentation, support audits, and contribute to cost‑reduction and process‑improvement initiatives.
Schedule
- The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Identifies, evaluates, and maintains relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
- Executes purchase orders for materials, parts, and services in alignment with specifications, quality requirements, and delivery schedules.
- Solicits, analyzes, and evaluates supplier quotations to ensure best value and compliance with cost, quality, and delivery expectations.
- Sources and qualifies suppliers to maintain an approved supplier base consistent with industry and customer requirements.
- Manages supplier performance and resolves procurement or delivery issues.
- Maintains accurate and auditable procurement documentation, including purchase orders and supplier quotes.
- Supports internal and external audits by providing required procurement documentation.
- Negotiates pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings while maintaining supplier reliability.
- Monitors order status, expedites deliveries, and collaborates with planning, inventory, and production teams to address material shortages or changes in demand.
- Resolves discrepancies in purchase orders, invoices, and receiving reports in coordination with accounting and suppliers.
- Performs other related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Self‑motivated with a strong sense of integrity, urgency, and professional responsibility.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage competing demands.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to support procurement decisions.
- Proficiency in procurement software such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including Epicor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance in documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of industry standards, materials, and certifications such as AS9100, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Knowledge of government contracting principles, cost analysis, and supplier management.
Physical Requirements
- Constant standing, walking, or sitting for at least 8 hours.
- Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and office equipment.
- Prolonged periods of repetitive movement.
- Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, stooping, or carrying up to 10 lbs. The essential functions of this position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
