Summary:A Buyer at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Procurement team supporting efforts to maintain and optimize inventory and coordinate logistics. This position involves maintaining inventory levels, coordinating freight, and assisting inventory and buying teams and is ideal for someone who has analytical skills, organizational skills, and is detail orientated. key_responsibilities : Inventory Control ManagementAttend daily inventory meetingsManage stock items and communicate updates, including new, discontinued, and changes in product and packaging technologiesMaintain cost fields for stock items in AS400Develop weekly sales forecasts and purchase products accordingly to meet inventory requirementsMarket Analysis and CollaborationWork with sales team to analyze market conditions and competitive activityAssist in developing sales and market plansUtilize supplier lead times to maximize company advantagesRespond to sales requests for research and sourcing new productsLogistics CoordinationEnsure adherence to delivery schedules by-product transport carriersPrepare purchase orders for daily receiving and provide transportation instructionsTrack freight and confirm purchase orders for inbound shipmentsAdministrative Support and Customer ServiceCross-train with buyers and inventory control for coverageUpdate bid sheets and handle various accounts in salesPrint and distribute daily fresh product informationAnswer telephones and assist with inquiriesAdditional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.
