    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Procurement Specialist to support purchasing operations, supplier management, and order fulfillment activities. This role is responsible for creating and managing purchase orders, maintaining vendor relationships, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials and supplies.
    This is a full-time temporary position covering a leave of absence. There is no opportunity for permanent hire.

    Responsibilities

    • Create, enter, and manage purchase orders and blanket order releases
    • Compile and maintain purchasing records and documentation
    • Contact vendors and suppliers to obtain quotations and pricing information
    • Expedite orders and monitor delivery schedules
    • Build and maintain positive supplier relationships
    • Research product specifications and source items that are not clearly identified
    • Resolve accounts payable discrepancies and customer-related issues
    • Ensure product and purchasing data is accurate and up to date
    • Provide exceptional customer service to internal teams and external partners
    • Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    Required Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of buyer or procurement experience
    • Strong experience creating and managing purchase orders
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, including professional business communication
    • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Strong customer service and relationship management skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Above-average math and analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
    • Experience working in a fast-paced purchasing, procurement, distribution, or manufacturing environment
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Experience with supplier negotiations and sourcing activities
