Overview
We are seeking a
Buyer / Procurement Specialist to support purchasing, sourcing, and supplier management activities in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for managing purchase orders, maintaining vendor relationships, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely procurement of materials and supplies. The ideal candidate will have strong sourcing and purchasing experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
This is a
full-time temp-to-perm opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Create, enter, and manage purchase orders and blanket order releases
- Source materials and obtain supplier quotations for purchasing needs
- Expedite orders and ensure timely delivery of materials
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Research products and specifications to identify appropriate sourcing solutions
- Resolve vendor, purchasing, and accounts payable discrepancies
- Review and maintain product and purchasing data for accuracy and integrity
- Provide outstanding customer service and procurement support to internal teams
- Monitor supplier performance and address supply chain issues as needed
- Support purchasing activities for manufacturing and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with procurement processes
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of sourcing experience
- 3-5 years of purchasing or procurement experience
- Experience sourcing manufacturing and MRO-related materials
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience communicating with senior-level stakeholders
- Proven experience in a buyer or procurement role within a manufacturing or fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments
- Advanced procurement, sourcing, and supplier management experience
