Buyer Assistant
We are currently looking into finding a temp employee to fill our Buyer Assistant position.
Pay rate: $30
Hybrid - Monday Friday 8-5 PM
This position for now is for about 12 months with possibility to convert if we budget allows and if it works out.
Locations (Preference is Monroe Georgia, but is also open to Farmington Michigan, Harrisburg or Berea Kentucky)
Must Have's
- 1-2 years' experience as a Jr. Buyer
- Heavy Excel
- Communicating with supplier, understand the costing process
- Jr. Buyer 1 to 2-year
- Must have Automotive buyer background
Position Summary
The Purchasing Administrative Specialist (Temporary) provides administrative and operational support to Category Buyers within the Purchasing Department. This role is responsible for maintaining purchasing data, coordinating supplier communications, supporting cost management activities, and ensuring timely completion of procurement-related administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and maintain contract pricing information in purchasing systems.
- Process and coordinate system approvals related to price changes and contract updates.
- Distribute Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers and collect supplier responses.
- Gather tariff-related information from suppliers and prepare submissions as required.
- Perform periodic material cost adjustment calculations and maintain supporting documentation.
- Collect tooling-related data from suppliers and complete required forms and reports.
- Support new supplier onboarding by obtaining required documentation, forms, and master data.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely completion of purchasing activities.
- Provide general administrative support to Category Buyers and assist with other purchasing-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, administrative support, or a related role is preferred.
- Proficiency in Client Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience working with ERP or purchasing systems is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
