    About the Role

The Business Technology Liaison is the primary point of connection between the departments of the City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County and the EXOS service delivery team. This person builds real working relationships across the City and County's departments, learns how each one operates day to day, and makes sure the technology support and coordination those departments receive actually reflects what they need to get their work done.

This role sits at the intersection of business and technology. It is as much about relationship-building and clear communication as it is about coordinating enterprise applications, ERP, and GIS systems behind the scenes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary liaison between City and County business units and EXOS, building and maintaining working relationships across departments.

    • Develop and maintain a working understanding of departmental operations, business processes, and technology needs across the City and County's departments.

    • Support business relationship management, requirements gathering, solution coordination, and user adoption activities for departmental initiatives.

    • Coordinate support and administration activities for key business systems, including enterprise applications, ERP platforms (Tyler / Munis), GIS, financial systems, and other approved business solutions.

    • Act as the intermediary between departments and third-party application vendors, coordinating requests, tracking status, and following up on delivery.

    • Identify opportunities for operational improvement, automation, process optimization, and technology modernization, and bring those recommendations into the account's technology roadmap.

    • Partner with the Service Delivery Manager, Technical Lead, and Strategic Account Manager so departmental priorities are reflected in ongoing governance, reporting, and planning.

    • Participate in departmental engagement and governance activities, representing both the business perspective and the technical delivery team.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in business relationship management, business application coordination, or an IT liaison role; public-sector or municipal government experience strongly preferred.

    • Familiarity with ERP platforms (Tyler / Munis or a comparable system) and enterprise business applications; exposure to GIS/ArcGIS is a plus.

    • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work directly and comfortably with department heads, end users, and technical staff alike.

    • Ability to translate business needs into technology requirements, and technical constraints into plain language department stakeholders can act on.

    • Experience coordinating with third-party software vendors on behalf of an internal or client organization.

    • Ability to pass required background screening; CJIS clearance eligibility may be required depending on departmental assignment.
