The Business Operations Internship at Expeditors San Diego (SAN) offers a hands‑on, analytics‑driven experience focused on process improvement, AI innovation, automation, and operational efficiency within a global logistics environment.
This role is designed for a student who is excited about using data, technology, and AI tools to improve how a business operates. The intern will work closely with Business Operations leadership and cross‑functional teams to analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and support solutions that improve visibility, accuracy, and productivity across the branch.
The intern will be exposed to real operational data, live workflows, and active improvement initiatives, with opportunities to contribute to projects involving:

Key Responsibilities
Support process improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows, identifying gaps, and recommending efficiency improvements
Assist with data analytics and reporting, including:
Cleaning, organizing, and analyzing operational data
Supporting dashboards, scorecards, and performance metrics
Participate in AI and automation initiatives, such as:
Identifying repetitive or manual tasks suitable for automation
Supporting AI‑enabled tools (e.g., reporting automation, workflow optimization, data analysis support)
Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process changes
Analyze trends and performance data to support leadership decision‑making
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across the branch to support operational initiatives
Provide analytical, documentation, and administrative support as needed
