This individual will manage general HR functions of the School of Nursing Human Resources office by effective problem-solving, innovative thinking, effective planning, project management, leadership, and positive communication, in a diplomatic and confidential manner. As an integral part of the team, this individual will work with other personnel in the Dean's office, SON students, faculty, staff, administrators, and office personnel across UAB's campus. This position has a direct report to the HRP Manager and the SON Director of Compliance.
Independently, in a confidential and professional manner: provides event management, oversight, and support; schedules faculty and staff training and development opportunities; provides project management and report support needed across the SON; manages biweekly payroll processing; provides data management support for personnel processes, to include maintaining credentialing and compliance data; manages the SON Human Resources web pages; and oversees and manages temporary and/or work study student employees.
In addition to these responsibilities, this position serves as a key HR data and systems resource for the School of Nursing. The individual will support HR information systems, maintain HR databases, develop and run SQL queries, build reports and dashboards, validate data accuracy, and provide analytics to support decision-making, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate HR data into meaningful insights for leadership.

Bachelor''s degree in Business or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Master's degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred, a bachelor's degree is required. A minimum of two years of data management or equivalent experience is required. The role requires proficiency in SQL for querying, extracting, and manipulating HR data; strong experience with data management and reporting; and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of Access, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills; the ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders; and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken formats.
