JOB SUMMARY
The Business Office Coordinator is responsible for supporting the administrative, intake, scheduling, and business office functions of the home health agency. This role ensures efficient coordination of patient intake, staffing, billing support, and office operations while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The position serves as a central point of communication for patients, families, referral sources, and staff, ensuring seamless coordination of care and operational workflows.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain office records, supplies, and document processing.
Coordinate patient referrals, admissions, and intake processes.
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations.
Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and referral sources.
Maintain accurate referral and patient records within the EMR system.
Coordinate clinician schedules and territory assignments.
Manage schedule changes, missed visits, and staffing needs.
Perform data entry, pre-bill reviews, and final bill checks.
Support reimbursement and billing processes.
Answer incoming calls, emails, and correspondence.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
The Business Office Coordinator must have healthcare experience, preferably in referrals/intake in a home health or hospice environment.
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and demonstrate good communication
Demonstrates autonomy, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
