Business Manager - Hybrid
Overview
The Business Manager is a trusted advisor and operational leader for the organization's senior leadership team. This role drives the rhythm of business (RoB), business planning, financial and operational excellence, and cross-functional execution. You will partner closely with leaders across business, marketing, finance, operations, and delivery teams to align goals, manage resources, and translate strategy into clear plans, metrics, and results.
This is a mid-senior level role for someone who is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working with senior stakeholders, often influencing without formal authority.
What You'll Do
Business Planning & Rhythm of Business
- Lead and manage the business planning cycle aligned to organizational goals, priorities, and financial targets.
- Own the Rhythm of Business (RoB) for the leadership team, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.
- Plan, coordinate, and run key leadership and team forums (LT/extended LT meetings, offsites, planning sessions).
- Drive clear agendas, pre-reads, content readiness, action item capture, and follow-through for all key meetings.
Operational Excellence & Program Management
- Translate high-level strategy into operational plans, roadmaps, and portfolios of work, ensuring clarity of ownership, timelines, and deliverables.
- Manage and track cross-team initiatives and special projects, escalating risks and driving resolution to keep work on track.
- Identify and implement process improvements to simplify operations, reduce friction, and improve consistency and quality.
- Ensure the organization is set up for continuous operations in both normal and adverse conditions through effective planning and readiness.
Finance & Budget Management
- Partner with finance to establish and manage budgets, headcount, and other resource plans.
- Create and maintain financial rhythms for forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on budget trends, trade-offs, and investment decisions.
Data, Insights & Business Intelligence
- Define and track KPIs, scorecards, and dashboards that measure business health and program performance.
- Analyze data and business results to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities; recommend actions to improve outcomes.
- Use data to tell a clear story for leadership reviews and decision-making.
Stakeholder & Communications Management
- Act as a connector and integrator across teams (e.g., business, marketing, engineering, finance, operations, and external partners).
- Drive stakeholder management, maintaining strong relationships and clear expectations with internal and external partners.
- Support and coordinate internal communications: newsletters, leadership updates, talking points, and presentation materials.
- Help plan and support change management efforts for new programs, processes, and organizational shifts.
Team Health & Culture
- Monitor and support organizational health, including feedback rhythms, team culture initiatives, and development activities.
- Surface themes and recommend actions to strengthen team engagement, inclusion, and effectiveness.
What You'll Have
- 5+ years of experience in business management, program management, operations, finance, consulting, or a related discipline (experience in large tech or enterprise environments strongly preferred).
- Proven experience managing business planning, RoB, and cross-functional initiatives for senior leaders or leadership teams.
- Strong financial acumen: experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking.
- Demonstrated project/program management skills, with the ability to organize work, manage dependencies, and deliver on time.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly to executive audiences.
- High attention to detail combined with the ability to connect operational details to the strategic "big picture."
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills; able to influence without authority and drive work through others.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments, proactively driving clarity by asking the right questions and framing options.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools such as SharePoint/Teams/OneNote.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
- Attention to detail & proactive problem solving.

Compensation: Prime 8 uses different pay ranges based on level of position, relevant experience and specific candidate location. The pay range for this role is between $151,840 - $160,160 per year (based on full time employment), plus employee benefits.
