The Business Manager leads with a focus on customer service and relationship-building through the embodiment of Bergdorf Goodman's foundational Service Values: Excellence, Imagination & Graciousness. The CHANEL Business Manager serves as the ultimate leader and brand ambassador for CHANEL within Bergdorf Goodman. This key leader is responsible for inspiring, coaching, and developing an elite boutique team that consistently delivers world-class, personalized client service. By managing the strategic alignment between Bergdorf Goodman and CHANEL, the Business Manager drives top-line revenue, expands market share, and ensures every client interaction reflects the highest standards of both iconic brands.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Brand Ambassadorship

• Dual Brand Stewardship: Champion the heritage, values, and luxury vision of CHANEL while upholding the high-touch culture of Bergdorf Goodman.
• Business Development & Strategy: Partner closely with BG and CHANEL leadership to devise creative sales strategies, maximize growth, and exceed defined financial targets.
• Buy & Merchandising Optimization: Participate in seasonal buy reviews, aligning inventory investment with deep analysis of client demand and emerging market trends.

Sales & Team Performance Management

• KPI & Goal Achievement: Establish performance expectations and coach home-base associates to achieve individual sales volume targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Cross-Floor Engagement: Collaborate with store leadership to design and implement strategies that expand CHANEL's exposure and availability to Out-of-Home Base (OHB) sellers across Bergdorf Goodman.
• Training & Development: Oversee and facilitate all CHANEL education programs, including seasonal Collection Launches, Trunk Shows, Brand Selling Ceremonies, and operational guidelines.

Clienteling & Experiential Events

• VIC Development & Retention: Develop and execute advanced clienteling strategies focused on deepening relationships with Very Important Clients (VICs) and cultivating an Emerging Private Client program.
• Luxury Event Execution: Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of high-impact client events, private salon appointments, and trunk shows in partnership with CHANEL and BG stakeholders.

Visuals, Operations & Stakeholder Communication

• Visual Standards: Act as the primary liaison to CHANEL Visual Merchandising, ensuring immaculate store presentation and strict adherence to global brand guidelines.
• Business Recaps & Insights: Synthesize performance data and qualitative feedback into executive summaries for critical internal and brand stakeholders.
• Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of discretion regarding proprietary business strategies, financial performance, and client data.

Candidate Qualifications & Core Competencies

• Experience: Extensive leadership experience in luxury retail management, clienteling, and boutique operations.
• Client Centricity: Proven track record in building and scaling VIC retention programs and high-touch client experiences.
• Leadership: Exceptional ability to recruit, mentor, and elevate a high-performing sales team.
• Communication: Highly articulate and professional presenter with strong executive-writing and analytical skills.

Salary Range $85,808 - $107,260*

Compensation for this role varies by geographic location. The listed range reflects multiple markets, including higher-cost areas. Actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience, and other job-related factors.
