A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Paralegal to join its Fort Worth office. This position will support attorneys handling sophisticated commercial and business litigation matters and will be heavily involved in case management, discovery, document production, and trial preparation.
The ideal candidate will have 35+ years of business litigation paralegal experience within a law firm and be comfortable managing multiple complex matters in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, from case intake through trial
- Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Manage complex case files and maintain organized electronic and physical records
- Coordinate document production and e-discovery, including use of litigation databases and platforms
- Assist with high-volume document review
- Conduct factual and legal research under attorney supervision
- Prepare deposition summaries, chronologies, exhibits, and trial binders
- File documents with state and federal courts, including e-filing
- Track critical deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
- Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other parties
- Assist attorneys with depositions, hearings, and trials as needed
- Provide additional litigation support as required
Qualifications- 35+ years of business litigation paralegal experience in a law firm required
- Experience supporting complex commercial/business litigation matters
- Strong experience with discovery, document production, and case management
- Trial preparation and courtroom experience strongly preferred
- Experience with e-discovery and litigation support software
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential information
- Proactive, team-oriented approach
- Ability to work additional hours during trials and other time-sensitive phases of litigation
EducationOne of the following is strongly preferred:
- Bachelors degree
- Paralegal certificate or Associates degree in Paralegal Studies
- Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) designation
