Business Intelligence Specialist

Introduction

Employees in this role are responsible for enabling intelligent business decisions by designing robust analytics solutions through a blend of business acumen, data and analytics proficiency, and technical solution architecture. This position requires leveraging knowledge and expertise in multiple tools for data integration, data modeling, data analysis, and advanced data visualization.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)

• Proficiency in Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, Data Analysis, and Ad Hoc Reporting
• Experience with Client Azure, Python, ETL, GCP, and Automated Scripting
• Experience with Data/Analytics dashboards and Jira
• Understanding of Financial Operations and Data Governance
• Prior work experience at the client or in the client's industry

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required)

• Strong communication skills
• Experience with Data Modeling and Tech Communication standards
• Hands-on Power BI report development, DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, filters, drilldowns, dashboard UX, performance tuning

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role)

• Own assigned backlog items for Power BI dashboard development, analysis, testing, documentation, and release support through sprint delivery
• Partner with various stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into Power BI reporting solutions
• Design and build persona-based Power BI reports and dashboards covering various business metrics
• Create and maintain Power BI semantic models, measures, and reusable report patterns
• Support integration and data modeling across multiple datasets and systems
• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and source-to-dashboard accuracy checks
• Analyze change requests and defects, assess impact, and support testing and documentation
• Participate in design reviews, code/report peer reviews, sprint planning, stakeholder demos, and knowledge transfer
