Business Intelligence Analyst II

Job Description

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst with strong data modeling and dashboard development skills to join the Facilities Operational Excellence team. This role will support the Business Intelligence Manager in developing and managing high-quality data solutions, including data models, interactive dashboards, and data-rich reports that support strategic, operational, and financial decision-making.

The analyst will perform data extraction, ETL, data transformation, and validation activities to support existing data environments and ensure data accuracy and integrity. This role will help establish trusted, accessible data and analytics capabilities while building the data infrastructure needed to support BAE Systems' long-term strategic goals.

BI Dashboard Development & Visualization

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards that translate data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Develop and refine data models and dashboard solutions to improve performance, usability, and consistency.
• Create clear and effective visualizations that highlight trends, patterns, and key business information to support decision-making.

Data Preparation & Integration

• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources for analysis and reporting.
• Implement data validation and quality checks to improve the accuracy and reliability of data solutions.
• Document data sources, transformation logic, and data models to support ongoing maintenance and reuse.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Use data and analytics to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Develop automation solutions using Power Automate and other business tools to reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy.
• Support the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and analytical capabilities.

Collaboration, Documentation & Stakeholder Support

• Partner with Project Management, Facilities Operations, Strategic Planning, Finance, and other functional teams to understand business needs and develop effective data solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and analytical solutions.
• Provide training and support to users of BI tools and dashboards.
• Maintain documentation for BI solutions, including data sources, data models, ETL processes, and dashboard functionality.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years of professional experience.
• Each additional level of education can substitute for 2 years of experience.
• 2+ years of experience developing dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and ETL processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience developing ETL processes using Python.
• Experience developing and publishing dashboards in Power BI Service.
• Experience developing or integrating AI-powered tools, chatbots, or API-based solutions.
• Working knowledge of Power Automate and other Microsoft 365 tools.
• Experience working with Power BI Service and AWS Redshift.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79365 - $134921

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
