The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and automating business reporting and analytics solutions that support decision-making across the organization. This role serves as the primary resource for Power BI development, data analysis, reporting automation, and business intelligence initiatives within the organization.
The position partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Information Technology to transform data into meaningful insights, improve reporting efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making. This role is designed for an early-career professional with strong technical aptitude and analytical skills who is eager to develop expertise in business intelligence and enterprise reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesReporting & Dashboard Development
Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support Finance and business operationsCreate recurring financial, operational, and management reports for internal stakeholdersTranslate business requirements into meaningful reporting solutions and visualizationsEnsure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data presented in reports and dashboardsMaintain documentation for reporting processes, calculations, and data sources
Data Analysis & Business Intelligence
Analyze business and financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvementSupport development and maintenance of data models, relationships, and calculations within Power BIAssist with KPI development, performance metrics, and business scorecardsValidate data integrity and investigate reporting discrepanciesSupport ad hoc reporting and analytical requests from Finance leadership and business partners
Data Automation & Systems Support
Develop and maintain SQL queries, data extracts, and automated reporting solutionsIdentify opportunities to reduce manual reporting efforts through automation and process improvementsSupport integration of ERP, financial, and operational data into reporting platformsAssist with testing and implementation of reporting enhancements and system changesTroubleshoot reporting issues and support users of business intelligence tools
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Partner with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and IT teams to understand reporting requirementsProvide training and support to end users on reporting tools and dashboardsRecommend improvements to reporting processes, data quality, and analytics capabilitiesStay current on emerging technologies and best practices related to business intelligence and data analyticsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Finance and business operations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field0-3 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, reporting, finance, accounting, or a related fieldProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, formulas, and data analysis toolsWorking knowledge of Power BI or other business intelligence/reporting platformsBasic understanding of SQL and relational databasesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiencesDemonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyExperience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not requiredExposure to ERP systems, Power Query, DAX, Power Automate, or data visualization tools preferred
