This is a direct hire, hybrid role with some travel!
We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Project Engineer – Business Development! This hybrid role blends technical project management with client-facing business development, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both engineering and relationship-building. You will play a key role in expanding the firm’s client base while also leading and delivering structural engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, architects, contractors, and owners
Pursue, and secure new business opportunities within target markets
Lead proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations
Manage structural engineering projects from concept through completion
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure profitability and client satisfaction
Contribute to structural design and engineering analysis as needed
Review plans, calculations, and deliverables for quality and accuracy
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project teams
Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform growth strategy
Assist in developing fee structures, scopes of work, and project strategies
Work closely with internal engineering, operations, and leadership teams to align business goals with project execution
Qualifications:
3–4 years of experience in structural or civil engineering
Experience managing engineering or construction-related projects
Bachelor's Degree
Demonstrated interest or experience in business development, client relations, or sales
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
