A bit about us:

We are a long-established manufacturer of engineered residential and commercial water treatment solutions, including water softening, filtration, and drinking water systems. With U.S.-based manufacturing and the financial strength of a large, diversified global industrial parent, we pair a long track record with steady investment in growth. Our primary route to market is an exclusive network of independently owned dealers, many of them family businesses passed down through generations, supported by national retail partnerships and a growing e-commerce presence. Our people work hard, stay a long time, and benefit from stability and mobility across a much larger enterprise.

Why join us?
  • Own a defined territory covering roughly a quarter of the country, fully remote
  • Base salary plus a 30% annual bonus target, paid out quarterly with a year-end true-up
  • A collaborative, welcoming dealer group that supports new team members as they ramp
  • A leader who is not a micromanager and gives you room to run your territory your way
  • You control your travel calendar, scheduling visits directly with your dealer partners
  • Shape how the function operates as leadership defines roles, streamlines processes, and adds a CRM
  • Long-term stability and internal mobility across a large, well-capitalized parent organization

Job Details

The Business Development Manager drives above-market revenue growth across the Eastern region. You grow wallet share with existing dealers, win business from competitors, and expand the network with new dealer partners. Success comes from sharing best practices, using data to guide decisions, and holding partners accountable to performance goals. This is a remote role with no direct reports, ideally based near a major airport in the Eastern U.S.

What You'll Do
  • Build and execute the regional growth strategy to increase revenue, gain share, and strengthen competitive position
  • Prospect, recruit, and onboard high-potential dealers to fill coverage gaps and strengthen the network
  • Work with Product, national account managers, and other internal teams to align priorities and deliver a coordinated go-to-market approach
  • Develop trusted, performance-focused relationships with existing dealers that drive sustained top-line growth
  • Use sales data and analytics to pinpoint business drivers, identify gaps, and put improvement plans in place
  • Create and run territory sales plans tied to regional and company goals
  • Lead training and coaching that helps dealers capture market opportunity and run a stronger business
  • Track competitor activity and market trends to position our products, programs, and value effectively
  • Focus time and resources on the highest-impact opportunities
  • Complete weekly reporting on territory activity and findings
  • Support additional strategic projects as needed

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a dealer or distributor channel
  • Water treatment experience preferred; strong dealer channel sellers from adjacent durable goods industries are encouraged to apply
  • Experience selling consumer durables or branded products
  • Proven results in dealer channel sales, including building and executing effective sales strategies
  • A history of exceeding sales targets through strong ownership and execution
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence a wide range of personalities
  • Strong customer focus with internal and external partners
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative and follow-through
  • Solid business acumen and an understanding of market dynamics and business operations
  • Financial fluency, with the ability to explain key metrics clearly
  • Comfort in Excel and with consistent written reporting

Details
  • Location: Remote, Eastern U.S., near a major airport
  • Travel: Approximately 60%, typically 2 to 3 weeks per month, largely self-scheduled
  • Compensation: base plus 30% annual bonus target
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and more
