At ProService Hawaii, we exist to help local businesses thrive. As Hawaii's leading PEO, we give employers access to the HR infrastructure, payroll expertise, and benefits packages that were once only available to large companies — so they can focus on what they do best. We've spent more than two decades earning the trust of Hawaii's business community, and the Business Development Manager is at the center of that mission. This is the role that puts ProService in front of the small business owners who need us most.
As a BDM, you'll own the full sales cycle — from your first cold call to a signed agreement. You'll build your pipeline through canvassing, referrals, and networking across Oahu, and you'll close new business by understanding what local business owners actually need and showing them how ProService delivers it. What makes this role both challenging and rewarding is the market itself. Hawai'i is relationship-driven and tight-knit. The reps who win here are the ones who show up consistently, earn trust slowly, and treat every conversation as an investment in something long-term.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
IS THIS ROLE RIGHT FOR YOU?
This is a quota-carrying field sales role with clear milestones and real accountability from day one. Within your first year, you're expected to run full discovery meetings independently, build a strong pipeline by mid-year, and hit your annual revenue and activity targets. The ramp is supported — including assistance obtaining your Hawaii State Resident Producer License for Accident & Health — but the expectation to learn fast and execute is not optional. It's the job.
This role is a strong fit if you're energized by being out in the community, building relationships from scratch, and working in an environment where your results speak for themselves. It's worth knowing upfront that success here requires consistent outbound activity — cold calls, canvassing, and follow-through even when deals take longer than expected. If you're looking for a primarily inbound or inside-sales environment, this role isn't the right fit.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM
We're looking for someone with a proven B2B sales foundation who holds themselves to a high standard, takes feedback seriously, and is wired to own their outcomes. Experience in HR, payroll, or employer services is a plus — but strong sales fundamentals and genuine drive matter more.
You're probably a fit if:
WORK LOCATION
Oahu — Hybrid (when not in the field)
This role is based out of our Hawaii Kai office. When you're not out prospecting or meeting with clients, you'll work a hybrid schedule — in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
In office (when not in field): Tuesday – Thursday | Remote option: Monday & Friday
COMPENSATION
The base compensation for this position is $80,000 – $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Compensation is tied to performance. Strong results are recognized and rewarded — and this role comes with an uncapped commission structure that pays $60,000 upon achieving quota. High performers have a clear path to advance within the sales track and across the broader ProService team.
