Seeking a Business Development Manager with water/wastewater experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Raleigh, NC. This position will require travel throughout the state of North Carolina.

Salary is between $100K - $150K+ per year (based on experience)
This role is responsible for proactively shaping future business pipelines, exploring new markets, and collaborating cross-functionally to refine strategies, best practices, and sales initiatives. Success will be measured by individual contributions to sales, marketing effectiveness, and business development performance.
The BDM will act as a trusted client resource throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage engagement through post-project follow-up, while representing the company in a professional and consultative manner.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Identify and pursue new market opportunities and client relationships
Present technical and value-based solutions to current and prospective clients
Support early-stage project development through meetings and presentations
Conduct post-project follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction
Attend industry conferences to promote the brand and expand networks
Partner with marketing to increase brand visibility and alignment
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
Serve as a trusted advisor throughout project development
Continuously assess client needs and identify growth opportunities
Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to resolve client challenges
Develop relationships across related industries and sectors
Market Research & Pipeline Development
Build and manage a forward-looking sales pipeline using CRM tools
Track decision-makers, project timelines, and opportunities
Analyze customer data, market trends, and industry activity
Identify emerging markets and demand drivers
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
5+ years of sales/business development experience (water/wastewater preferred)
Strong communication and presentation skills
Proficiency with MS Office and CRM systems
Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Strong relationship-building and networking abilities
Willingness to engage in in-person sales and client meetings
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Working Conditions
Frequent travel, including overnight stays
Extended or irregular hours as needed for meetings, travel, and events
Regular collaboration with internal teams and external clients
