Business Development Manager – Light Industrial Staffing
Position Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to grow our light industrial staffing business through new client acquisition, relationship management, and strategic sales initiatives. This role is responsible for developing partnerships with manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, distribution, and production companies while collaborating closely with recruiting and operations teams to deliver workforce solutions that meet client needs.
The ideal candidate has experience in staffing sales, workforce solutions, or B2B industrial sales, with a strong understanding of light industrial environments and hiring challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, distribution, and production sectors
Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, HR leaders, and operational decision-makers
Conduct sales calls, onsite visits, networking events, and presentations to promote staffing services
Develop customized workforce solutions based on client operational needs and hiring forecasts
Negotiate staffing agreements, pricing, service terms, and contracts
Partner with recruiters and branch operations teams to ensure successful fulfillment and client satisfaction
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and labor market conditions
Achieve and exceed sales, revenue, and gross margin targets
Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline updates, and forecasting in CRM systems
Resolve client concerns quickly and professionally to maintain long-term partnerships
Support account growth through upselling, cross-selling, and retention strategies
Ensure compliance with employment laws, safety standards, and company policies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or related field preferred
3+ years of business development or outside sales experience, preferably in staffing or light industrial services
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
Strong understanding of light industrial staffing operations and workforce challenges
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for client meetings
Preferred Experience
Staffing industry experience in temporary, temp-to-hire, or direct hire placements
Existing relationships within manufacturing or distribution markets
Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety standards
Experience with high-volume staffing accounts
