Raleigh or Greensboro, NC (covering Central NC) | Full-time
This is a consultative sales role for someone who can earn trust, navigate complexity, and keep momentum-without relying on pressure.
ThinkTech is a managed IT services provider (MSP) helping businesses run smarter, safer, and more efficiently through technology. We're hiring a Business Development Manager to build new client relationships across Central North Carolina.
This role matters because you're helping businesses make critical technology decisions that directly impact their security, efficiency, and growth. Our clients aren't making quick purchases-they're choosing long-term partners. That means a thoughtful sales process (typically 90–180 days) built on credibility, consistency, and a genuine understanding of how each client operates.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage a pipeline of target accounts (typically 100 – 150+) through consistent outreach and relationship-building
- Connect with decision-makers and learn how their business operates
- Lead discovery conversations that uncover real challenges and guide decisions without pressure
- Position assessments as the entry point into deeper, high value engagements
- Partner with Project Engineers to align solutions with real client needs
- Own the full sales cycle, from first conversation to contract execution
- Maintain momentum through longer sales cycles with steady, professional follow-up
Who Thrives Here
You'll likely succeed if you:
- Ask thoughtful questions and listen before offering solutions
- Build credibility through consistency, not urgency
- Stay patient while proactively moving opportunities forward
- Manage your time and pipeline independently
- Enjoy being in front of clients and building real relationships
- Are motivated by meaningful wins, not quick transactions
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of B2B sales experience (consultative or solution-based, with new account acquisition)
- Proven ability to prospect, build pipelines, and close new business
- Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses
- Strong follow-up discipline and pipeline management skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally
Preferred
- Experience in technology, IT services, or a similar environment
- Familiarity with business systems, networks, or IT infrastructure
- Experience selling recurring revenue services or agreements
What This Role Isn't
- Not account management for existing accounts
- Not transactional sales
- Not a short-cycle closing role
Compensation
- Base salary starting at $60,000
- Commission on agreements, projects, and equipment
- On-target earnings: ~ $100,000 - $110,000+
- Top performers may exceed this based on pipeline and closed business
