Business Development Manager to drive new business growth and expand strategic partnerships across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and related regulated industries. This individual will be responsible for developing new client relationships, managing complex sales opportunities, and supporting long-term revenue growth through consultative selling and account management.
This is a primarily remote position with a preference for candidates located in
North Carolina who can periodically meet with clients and internal stakeholders in the Durham area.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute territory growth strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities within the life sciences sector.
- Build relationships with prospective and existing clients, including executive-level decision-makers and operational leaders.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through contract execution and account transition.
- Conduct consultative sales discussions to understand client needs and position technical service solutions effectively.
- Generate and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive outreach, networking, referrals, and lead generation activities.
- Research target markets, industry trends, and prospective organizations to identify new opportunities.
- Schedule and conduct client meetings, presentations, and business reviews.
- Maintain accurate opportunity information, forecasts, and sales activities within CRM systems.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Collaborate with operations, technical teams, marketing, and leadership to ensure successful client onboarding and service delivery.
- Achieve established sales, revenue, and business development objectives.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of business development, sales, or account management experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CDMO, CRO, cold chain, supply chain, or related life sciences industries.
- Proven track record of prospecting, developing opportunities, and closing complex B2B sales engagements.
- Experience presenting solutions and business cases to senior leaders, including director, VP, and C-suite stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce is preferred.
Preferred Background- Stability storage, pharmaceutical services, biopharmaceutical development, CDMO, CRO, cold chain logistics, or supply chain services experience.
- Prior success selling technical or scientific service-based solutions to regulated customers.
- Understanding of GxP-regulated environments and pharmaceutical development or manufacturing processes.
