    We are currently seeking an experienced, self-starting, goal-oriented, successful sales professional to fill the role of Business Development Manager in our Charlotte, NC region.  As a Business Development Manager, your goal is to express ideas in a way that will build rapport with our current and new customers. You will help build new customer relationships and assist in managing key customer “partnerships” for long term business growth and success.

    What You Will Do: 

    • Develop new business accounts to secure major construction contracts 
    • Strategically prospect, network, and research future construction project opportunities  
    • Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to create and implement strategic plans to generate business opportunities which result in achieved revenue objectives for the Charlotte region 
    • Participate in industry and community organizations 
    • Continuously grow and develop your skills to lead project teams in selling high-end conceptual services to executive level managers and buyers of large corporations and agencies 
    • Influence the performance of direct reports 
    • Make business decisions based on Messer's long-term growth philosophy and core values 

     

    What You Will Bring: 

    • 10+ years of business development/sales experience 
    • Bachelor's degree required – business, construction, or related field preferred 
    • Ability to work non-traditional hours 
    • Business and community relationships in the Charlotte metro area
    • Knowledge/experience in a construction-related industry
    • Knowledge of Messer focused market segments (aviation, food and beverage, healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, science and technology) is a plus
    • Formal sales training experience with client management (CRM) software
    • Proven track record developing business and long-term client relations
