Avo Photonics is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff have the opportunity to design, prototype and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.
We seek a diligent, dedicated and meticulous person who will help to further our success and reputation in the industry through world-class customer service. The successful candidate must plan his/her own work schedule, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership of projects.
Specifically:
Individual contributor responsible for profitable growth through new customer acquisition and/or expansion of existing accounts
Be fully capable of leading the initial technical discussions with potential Customers. Capture all requirements. Create the appropriate Cost Model, Schedule, and Quote.
Identify targets, execute outreach, secure meetings, and run discovery with customer stakeholders (engineering, ops, procurement, quality, finance).
Deliver Quotes to Customers, representing the derived development approach and logic.
Coordinate internal scoping with Applications/Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Program Management; ensure quote inputs are complete and accurate
Close and win business
Monitor the profitability of each won job and adapt the sales process as needed
Maintain accurate CRM hygiene: stages, value, probability, close timing, next actions, and deal notes
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, physics, chemistry, other technical fields, or comparable experience.
5+ years in business development, strategic sales, account development, or technical commercial roles in the photonics industry
Demonstrated success generating pipeline and advancing/closing complex B2B opportunities (new + expansion)
Strong discovery and qualification capability across technical and commercial audiences
Strong written/verbal communication in English, organizational skills, and follow-through; able to manage multiple pursuits in parallel
