    Description


    We're seeking a Business Development Manager to lead growth efforts for one of our client's commercial controls divisions. Our client is an established player in the building automation space with a strong engineering backbone, long-standing contractor relationships, and a project portfolio spanning mission critical, industrial and large commercial facilities.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and close new business across mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and end-user facility teams
    • Build account strategies that convert specifications into booked projects and recurring service agreements
    • Lead discovery meetings, site walks, and solution presentations for retrofit and new construction opportunities
    • Partner with internal estimating and engineering teams to scope, price, and proposal complex control system projects
    • Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecasts, and activity records inside the company CRM

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of technical sales experience within building automation, controls, or mechanical systems
    • Working knowledge of BMS platforms, HVAC equipment, and energy management strategies
    • Proven track record selling into engineering firms, and facility contractors
    • Strong technical presentation skills with the ability to translate system architecture into business value
    • Experience managing a multi-stage sales cycle on technical product or solution sales
    • Comfort reading mechanical drawings, sequences of operation, and project specifications
    • Self-directed pipeline management and disciplined CRM hygiene
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred
