Business Development Director

Location: Flexible (Travel Required)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Director to drive strategic growth by developing new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships within the Aerospace & Defense market. This individual will own the complete sales lifecycle—from identifying opportunities and developing customer relationships through contract negotiation and long-term account growth.

This is a highly visible, strategic role focused on expanding market share with OEMs, prime contractors, and Tier 1 suppliers. Success requires an individual with an established network of Aerospace & Defense decision-makers who can quickly create opportunities and convert relationships into new business.

The ideal candidate is a consultative sales leader with deep experience selling complex electronic manufacturing or engineering solutions and the ability to communicate effectively with engineering, procurement, operations, and executive leadership.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Drive new business growth within the Aerospace & Defense market.
  • Leverage existing industry relationships to generate qualified opportunities with OEMs, prime contractors, and Tier suppliers.
  • Own the complete business development lifecycle from prospecting through contract award.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for both new and existing customers.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Negotiate complex, high-value commercial agreements while fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, estimating, and program management teams to develop competitive technical and commercial proposals.
  • Monitor market trends, customer programs, competitor activity, and emerging technologies.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, customer meetings, and networking events.
  • Help develop pricing and go-to-market strategies that maximize growth and profitability.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

  • 10+ years of business development or technical sales experience within Aerospace & Defense electronic manufacturing, electronics, or related high-reliability industries.
  • Established network of Aerospace & Defense OEMs, prime contractors, Tier 1 suppliers, and key industry decision-makers.
  • Proven track record of winning new business and growing strategic accounts.
  • Experience selling complex engineering, manufacturing, or electronic manufacturing services (EMS) solutions.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating large commercial contracts.
  • Experience developing strategic growth plans and executing long sales cycles.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
