We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Lead to join our Engineering team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our company's growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of utility incentives, typical construction methodologies, energy conservation issues related to design, maintenance, and operations, and measurement/verification practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing business development strategies to drive growth, supporting local Division teams in customer interactions, and working in conjunction with management to develop and execute sales strategies for target clients as well as other potential clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute innovative business development strategies to drive growth and profitability.
2. Support Energy Division teams in customer interactions and represent the company in a professional manner.
3. Work in conjunction with management to develop and execute sales strategies for target clients as well as other potential clients.
4. Partner with cross-functional teams, including project finance, operations, legal, marketing, and communications to secure new business and support positive customer experiences.
5. Conduct research to identify potential strategic partnerships and new market opportunities.
6. Lead prospecting efforts to identify and engage potential clients.
7. Develop comprehensive knowledge of the market, competitive landscape, trends, and challenges.
8. Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients and partners to build business.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Energy or Engineering industry.
2. Deep working knowledge of utility incentives, typical construction methodologies, energy conservation issues related to design, maintenance, and operations, and measurement/verification practices.
3. Proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies.
4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and business partners.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
6. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with teams including project finance, operations, legal, marketing, and communications.
7. Proficient in conducting market research and identifying new business opportunities.
8. Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for building businesses from the ground up.
9. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is required. Advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
