    Job Overview

    The Business Development & Field Expert is dedicated to multiple strategic accounts and located close to the customer premises. The major tasks in this role are to identify the needs of the customer and to find - together with the customer - new solutions and opportunities for customer's application, using known technologies or new innovative developments. The position is responsible for the design-in and development of new products and technologies and to manage the seamless and speedy execution of sales and engineering projects. The BDFE works as the interface between the customer and the TE Engineering Centers. The position also owns the full customer support in technical related items concerning the TE products and helps TE to become an architectural systems solutions partner at the customer.

    Job Requirements

    • Define new business opportunities for new & serial projects at Customers. (RFI & RFQ)
    • Identify & follow up of Competition Replacement opportunities.
    • Push customers to switch to locally production products (Local 2 Local)
    • Act as primary technical contact on new technologies products opportunities for a local customer (HM, SEC & OEM) where appropriate.
    • Function as the technical interface between their customer's engineers and the TE engineering community on all existing products as well as focus on new product development opportunities
    • Conducts technical support meetings, Training, workshops & Benchmarking activities, with internal and external customers for all Automotive related products.
    • Analyze customer needs, matching them to current TE products or propose modifications to current products and/or propose new product developments to Research & Development Engineering.
    • Acts as a technical liaison between customer and Account Manager & Product Managers as well as Business Development Specialists and TE Production locations.
    • Identify emerging trends in the marketplace and communicate back to Sales, Marketing and Engineering departments in a clear and detailed manner.
    • Organize and present interconnect solutions to Engineering and Product Development teams that highlight the key performance features and product benefits of our portfolio.
    • Reports design activity, customer project status and action plans monthly.
    • Establish relationships with key customer engineering contacts and decision makers.
    • Perform other tasks such as attending trade shows, exhibitions, and standards organization meetings.
    • Assist in new product introductions as the resident Engineer 'Expert' - shares knowledge and understanding of new product offerings that support Automotive Segment.

    What your background should look like

    • Engineering Degree (Mechanical preferred), "Engineering School preferred".
    • Proficient in MS-Office.
    • 5+ years of experience in preferably related to electro-mechanical component manufacture preferred.
    • Automotive Connector experience a strong plus.
    • Good exposure to automotive OEM's / Tier-1s
    • Exposure to Interconnection ecosystem (Harness makers, component manufacturer's) preferred.
    • Knowledge of trends / competition / technology that will influence products and sales
    • Strong problem solving, strategic and tactical thinking, and analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
